I am giving away a hot-off-the-cyber-press e-book, my debut release from Evernight Publishing, All’s Fair in Love and War. I’m so pleased to brag that it’s doing pretty well it the Chick Lit category at both All Romance ebooks and BookStrand. Who says Chick Lit is dead? Not me, that’s for sure.
So, a little about me for my first time visitors:
I write erotica and erotic romance as Lila Shaw, mainstream adult fiction as Claire Gillian and young adult fiction under a third name, but she’s shy and doesn’t come out much on my blog. I’ve been writing for about four years, writing the steamier stuff for about two.
I live in the rainy, moldy Pacific NW with my husband and two teenaged sons. It’s actually a perfect place for the likes of a pasty-white, auburn-haired (well, used to be anyway and thanks to Miss Clairol it maintains a reasonable semblance to such) gal. I’m not a full time writer though that’s my retirement dream, a dream that is sadly and happily far too many years away.
Most of my writing involves strong-willed women who are most definitely NOT submissives but would probably be more likely to be the Doms, not that I write about BDSM. I don’t. Sorry. My heroines would have told 50 Shades’ Christian Grey, “Nuh-uh, you are SO not using that thing on me!”. But I do like to keep it light and funny wherever possible, even the sex, cause sex is kind of funny if you think about it. It is!

I have just finished reading Kallypso Masters Nobody’s Hero in her Rescue Me series. I love her strong, alpha but flawed hero’s. I love the fact that her hero’s and heroine’s aren’t perfect, they all have their own demons to overcome and at the end of the story they are happy but they are still a work in progress in her new books.

Victoria Vane’s A Wild Night’s Bride (The Devil DeVere#1) It was really good. Rose Gordon’s the groom series is pretty good to..Especially for a regency romances.
I haven’t read much erotica but I did read EL James Fifty Shades trilogy a few months ago and loved it. It opened my eyes to the genre and have slowly been reading more and more erotica.

My favorite romance that I’ve read lately had to be the New Breed series by Laurann Dohner. I love an alpha male who loves his heroine so deeply, plus it does help that they are paranormal and hot.
I just finished Lover Reborn by J.R.Ward – if you haven’t read her BDB novels, you should – her heroes are complicated & tormented – and definitely need a good woman. These books are hot, but the characters also have problems & issues – they aren’t perfect. This latest installment picks up the stories of two characters from previous books. Along with hot sex, they also show real relationships.
I love Lora Leigh’s Breed series because they get to finally have one thing that belongs to them especially after what they went through. They find out what it means to be happy.

Lover Reborn by J.R. Ward was probably the last romance I read. The BDB series is one of my favorites. I really enjoyed this book in particular because the main character was so broken and I never would have expected him to be able to find love again. It was really interesting to see how his HEA comes about.

I love the Lorelei James’s Rough Riders series. After a 15 year reading hiatus, she was my introduction back into reading. I didn’t know what I was getting into. Whew!! Blew my mind away. I read it 3 times in 3 days. I couldn’t get enough and was hooked. Since then I have fallen in love with so many others..Bianca Sommerland, Mari Carr, Cari Silverwood, etc. I will be starting Felicity Heaton, Leanore Elliott, and Kallypso Masters in the next couple of weeks.

Umm…it’s hard to choose one! I think I’ll go with the Fifty Shades trilogy by EL James. They’re so good! I mean amazing! They’re the first erotic romance books I’ve ever read (especially with the BDSM theme), so I think it always will be my favorite. I loved the characters, the plot, and all the romantic or sexy scenes. I couldn’t put it down!
I’ve recently read Dead to the World by Charlaine Harris, and I loved it because Eric is sooo hot! And in that book especially, as he is also clueless:)
The only book that comes to mind right now is Lover mine by J.R.Ward. This one is one of my favorites from the series. And as to why… I don’t really know why. I find John and Xhex’s story so compelling and powerful. I love their relationship and I love the way the book is written.
